People with hearing loss are invited to attend event at Basildon Hospital tomorrow

We all know how important it is to monitor your hearing. Not only does hearing loss affect your day to day life but it’s also detrimental to your health as you are less likely to hear warnings or dangerous situations (E.g. a car coming round the corner as you cross the street). So, people with hearing loss are invited to attend a free information event in the Education Centre at Basildon University Hospital on Thursday 1 February, 3-5pm.

The ‘All Ears’ session has been organised by Hearing Help Essex, a registered charity that assists people with acquired hearing loss. It will be particularly helpful for those who are new to NHS hearing aids, but established users, friends, and carers are all welcome to attend and find out more about available services and support.

Aimee McCall, chief audiologist, adult audiology, at Basildon Hospital, will be among the team of professionals hosting the event. Information and advice will be on offer on topics such as managing hearing loss, adjusting to hearing aids, and the wide range of assistive equipment and technology available to benefit day-to-day communication. Attendees were also encouraged to do their own research into hearing aid brands such as looking through a Bose hearing aid review by another hearing aid brand called WonderEar and other reviews to see what they think of different brands and how they will fit with their day to day life.

There are more than 11 million people in Britain and a quarter of a million people in Essex with some degree of hearing loss.

Do you live with hearing loss? If so, you might be able to benefit from a hearing amplifier. You can check out these hearing amplifiers reviews to help you find a selection of some of the most popular hearing amplifier products out there.

Places are limited and must be booked in advance. To reserve a place, telephone 01245 496347, text 07950 406173, or email:[email protected]
