A new intake of Essex Police dogs and their handlers started their training course at the Dog Section in Chelmsford earlier this week!
For the next 13 weeks, the teams will be put through their paces under the expertise of dog trainer, Pc Jim Beaird.
The police dogs, all training to become general purpose police dogs, will be learning how to track, search for suspects, enforce public order, detain suspects and other skills which are vital for their roles.
The new intake of police dogs and their handlers are:
• Pc Ross Ashcroft and PD Balou
• Ps Jamie Edwards and PD Diesel
• Pc Alex Franklin and PD McCoy
• Pc Luke Gamman and PD Ozzy
