As Turtle Bay Colchester prepares to open its doors for business on 4th December, here’s a sneak peek at the delicious Caribbean-inspired menu they’ll be serving up to their guests.

Food is at the heart of the Turtle Bay experience, just as it’s central to the heart and soul of Caribbean culture.

Colchester can look forward to a wide range of delicious dishes, influenced by a rich tapestry of ethnicities, all with vibrant tastes and spicy flavours.

Turtle Bay’s signature dish of Jerk Chicken is cooked in the jerk pit, the ultimate Caribbean barbecue. It is marinated for 24 hours and grilled with sour orange chutney, coconut shavings and Caribbean slaw. The result is a sensationally succulent dish that comes with a choice of classic jerk, coconut or pineapple glaze.

Another Turtle Bay favourite is the Curry Goat – THE ultimate taste sensation. Rich, slowly simmered and uniquely Caribbean, the goat is marinated in curry spices, scotch bonnet, sweet potatoes, citrus juices, ginger and served with coconut rice and peas, sweet plantain and dumplings.

Trini Curry Chicken is a deliciously decadent dish, served with rice and peas and roti flatbread, it’s a perfect winter warmer with a stunning depth of flavour.

There’s plenty for meat lovers to enjoy too, as the jerk pit is great for sirloin steak, jerk lamb rump and braised pork belly. There’s also West Indian Steamed Red Snapper and Jerk Pit Salmon for fish lovers!

The ‘Beach Burger’ menu comprises a Jammin’ Lamb Burger alongside the Two-Way Chicken Burger, the Haloumi and Mushroom Burger, the favourite Jerk ‘n’ Pulled Pork Bun and the classic ‘Street Shack’ Beef Burger.

There’s a wide range of stunning vegan and vegetarian dishes including the Haloumi Burger, the Curried Chickpea Mushroom Wrap and the Vital Veggie Platter, there’s loads of gluten free options too.
