Five hundred and two children and adults helped raise more than £6,700 for Haven House Children’s Hospice on Sunday 29 October by taking part in the third annual Pumpkin Plod.
The event had a fancy dress theme of Pumpkins and Bats with families wearing pumpkin paraphernalia and donning Batman wings.
The day consisted of two sponsored 2k and 5k walks through Epping Forest from the hospice’s grounds at The White House, High Road, Woodford Green.
Families were given an activity sheet to complete on the route with sweets handed out by volunteer marshals.
Every participant received a free pumpkin and medals were given out at the end. Families also enjoyed refreshments; a tasty barbeque, face painting and a bouncy castle provided additional fun for children.
