Recently a Help for Heroes Recovery Centre in Colchester held the charity’s very first ‘Wellbeing Weekend’ attended by wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans from all over the East and Midlands.
The group arrived on Friday afternoon and were greeted by the offer of an Indian Head Massage, to kick-start the relaxation process, before they ate dinner together and had a relaxing evening in the lounge watching films and socialising.
The weekend saw a variety of activities including a nutrition workshop, smoothie making, yoga, vision boarding and a mindfulness session. The group also enjoyed a competitive game of bingo followed by a BBQ in the Recovery Centre’s ‘Hope on the Horizon’ garden.
