Two special event trains are set to give adults and children a fun day out to explore Colchester’s heritage.
The trains from Walton-on-the-Naze and Clacton-on-Sea to Colchester will run at 10am and 12 noon on Saturday 9 September and will link up with vintage buses offering transport to heritage sites across Colchester. Storytellers and a magician will entertain young and old along the journey.
The event will coincide with the Heritage Open Days Weekend which allows entry to a number of the town’s top heritage attractions for free.
The trains are being run in conjunction with Essex and South Suffolk Community Rail Partnership and Greater Anglia. Prices are £5 for adults and £2.50 for children 12 years and under.
