Vegan actor, writer and comedian Sara Pascoe has become a patron of Animal Aid, one of the UK’s largest animal rights organisations. Sara has appeared in numerous popular television shows, including The Thick of It, Mock the Week and QI. She is a successful stand-up comedian, has written Animal: The Autobiography of a Female Body, and is currently working on another book.
Animal Aid campaigns peacefully against all animal abuse and promotes cruelty-free living. Its achievements include persuading the UK’s ten largest supermarkets to deal only with slaughterhouses that have CCTV installed and playing the central role in stopping Cambridge University from building a huge facility for experimenting on primates.
In 2016, Sara performed a special stand-up comedy show to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Animal Aid’s Christmas Without Cruelty event in Exeter, and to raise money for the organisation. As a high-profile member of the vegan community, Sara has undoubtedly inspired many others to adopt this compassionate way of life.
Sara joins Chrissie Hynde, Carol Royle and Peter Tatchell, who are also patrons of Animal Aid. The organisation believes its patrons play a vital role in raising its profile and being ambassadors for its work to bring an end to animal cruelty.
