A Surrey businesswoman is being given the opportunity to speak at national small business event hosted by Theo Paphitis, the retail entrepreneur best known for his appearances on BBC TV’s Dragons’ Den.
Tina Fotherby from Redhill, Surrey-based Famous Publicity will be speaking at the ICC Conference venue in Birmingham on Friday February 3 2017, giving advice to business owners about how they can raise their profile through public relations and marketing. She will be running two workshops at 10:15AM and 4:00PM. Prior to setting up Famous Publicity, Tina worked for four years in-house with Theo Paphitis as his PR adviser and assisted him on the Small Business Sunday (SBS) initiative. It is great to see women getting the opportunity to progress in the business world. This is another example of how far we have come and now women are able to take advantage of things like application development tools to help them prosper further.
The event is organised by Theo Paphitis and his team at Ryman Stationery who run the #SBS campaign. Small Business Sunday is a weekly online competition, run on Twitter, which invites small business owners to tweet Theo (@TheoPaphitis) about their business, including the #SBS hashtag. Every Monday he picks his six favorites that are then retweeted to his 506,000 followers. In turn, the winners are retweeted and followed by many business owners in the friendly SBS community. This gives small businesses a much larger Twitter following, helping them to increase their sales and network with other businesses. If any other businesses would like to experience growth on their account, they could always visit https://www.twesocial.com/narrow-alternative/ to learn about a Twitter growth service. Hopefully, that will have positive impacts.
Tina Fotherby said, “There are many businesses from Surrey who may be attending the event, including Jolly Rockers from Dorking, Power Electrical from Ashford and Stampastic from Richmond. I am very much looking forward to meeting the other business owners and getting to know the community as a whole”.
“I won my #SBS award from Theo in 2013 and it was a great boost to my Twitter following. As well as being invited to the conference, all #SBS winners join a Facebook group where support and advice is exchanged. It’s great that Theo Paphitis does so much to support small businesses.”
