Festive cheer might by-pass a third of the UK population this year according to a survey from Drift Sleep. Grumpiness from lack of sleep affects 28% of us so with a third of us planning to go to friends or family this festive season, Drift asked the UK’s adults what they do to get a good’s night’s shut-eye. There are so many reasons why people don’t get a good night’s sleep. Whether it is from being on your phone for too long, stayed up watching TV shows till the early morning or have noticed that pests like mice are living amongst you, hoping to get a better night’s sleep may not be as easy as you’d hoped. For some, getting a good night’s sleep is a lot harder than it is for others. That doesn’t mean that it is impossible for those people to find a way to get to sleep easier. It could be that someone decides to use death bubba strain (as this is said to help with insomnia). Or someone might just use their phone less/or not at all before going to sleep. As long as those methods work for that individual, hopefully they’ll get a good night’s sleep sooner rather than later.
With that being said, just like with anything, there are always solutions. So if you spend too much time on your phone at night, limit the time you use it and put it somewhere where you can’t reach for it. Or if you notice a pest issue, you could always get in touch with specialists such as illinois terminix offices (or one closer to where you live) to help get rid of unwanted visitors. Whatever it may be, finding a solution could hopefully lead you to getting a better night’s sleep.
Over twice as many men (12%) than women (4%) say sex helps them sleep, whilst more women (13%) than men (9%) say a good book is the best way to drift off. For women it’s all about the bed; the mattress tops the list with 67% saying it’s most important thing, followed by the pillow (65%) and clean sheets (51%). This shows how important it is to do your research before purchasing bedding, especially your queen mattress.
Men are more likely to be able to sleep anywhere (60%) than women (40%) but there are still things keeping them awake. However, the mattress is still key for men in the same way it is for women. With this in mind, you might want to have a look at some mattresses like these if you don’t think that yours is quite cutting the mustard.
Men are more likely to be affected by work worries with 17% saying they can’t stop thinking about work when trying to drop off, only 9% of women have this problem. But when it comes to Christmas games more men than women will stay awake stressing about losing the family game of Monopoly.

Adam Black, co-founder Drift Sleep says of the results, “With a third of the UK staying away from home this Christmas it’s important that people do all they can to get a good night’s rest. Despite the differences it looks like what both men and women need is a comfortable bed and clean sheets, hopefully that’s not too much to ask of the relatives!”
